Know the terms in Odin


  • PDA : Refers to the build version of the firmware

  • Phone: Refers to the version of the modem / baseband

  • CSC : Is the consumer software customization and refers to the regional and cellular provider that contains the region settings,APN For data connection , MMS and so on .

  • PIT : Partition information table  is required only if the your firmware lost / damaged partition information table.



If the firmware is downloaded only a single file . Tar , the file pda + phone + csc is included in it .

Not required root access to do this flashing .

Flashing ways :


  • Download the appropriate firmware  ( format . Zipped ) , then in the extract .

  • Download ODIN

  • Reboot Your Samsung into download mode, by means  turn off , then press the volume downbutton , homebutton and power button simultaneously . Option will appear , press the volume up and volume down to continue or cancel . Press the volume up button , you now in download mode .

  • Open ODIN that was downloaded

  • Check the Auto reboot and F.Reset Time. Re-partition unchecked >> only if there are files. Pits only (in case your firmware corrupted partition table information).

  • If the file was extracted consists of only one file. Tar.md5, then click toggle PDA and browse to the location where the file was extract.

  • If there are three file, then:

    • Click the toggle PDA and select the file that says its CODE

    • Click the toggle Phone, and select the file that says its MODEM

    • Click the toggle CSC and select the CSC file that says its

  • Do not click toggle PIT and leave it empty (unless there is the case above)

  • Connect the phone to the computer / laptop via a data cable and let it install the necessary drivers. Wait until the box ID: COM to blue.

  • Click the START button, and let the flashing process running.

  • Do not disconnect the USB cable during the process flashing, your phone will reboot by itself when the flashing process is complete.

  • To check that the new firmware is finished flashing, select settings> about phone from your phone
