- Downloaded applications can cause the phone to behave unexpectedly or affect the phone’s performance. Use safe mode to check whether a downloaded application is causing the problem. In safe mode, the phone only starts with preinstalled software and applications. If the phone performance improves in safe mode, it’s likely that one or more of the downloaded applications are affecting the phone negatively. You can then exit safe mode and restart the phone to uninstall the downloaded application.
To enable safe mode- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold down the power key
until the phone vibrates.
- Wait until the Xperia™ logo appears.
- Press and hold the volume down key. The device then restarts in safe mode.
Note: To exit safe mode, restart the device.
To uninstall an application from the Application screen- To open the Application screen menu, drag the left edge of the Application screen to the right.
- Tap Uninstall. All uninstallable applications are indicated by

- Tap the application that you want to uninstall, then tap Uninstall.
